Thursday highlights from northern Oregon:
Seeing Ashley, Lucy, Maggie and Tabasco during the morning hours. Lunch with Debi in downtown Portland. Afternoon CD comedy in the car with Debi, while road tripping to Mt. Hood. Searching Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood and Government Camp bars for our thru-hiker friends due in town. Evening reading at Eric’s condo in Government Camp and late dinner at the Huckleberry Inn. Spending the night in the Condo.
Low points of the day:
Learning that the gals who were giving a ride to Tabasco from Portland to Seattle were a no call/no show and the resultant rush through Portland that Ashley and Tabasco had to make to get him on a train, after missing getting him on the Greyhound bus (last ticket available sold 90 seconds before he arrived to buy a ticket), Not seeing Eric before returning to the trail. Not locating Nabor J and Chowda at Timberline Lodge, despite early afternoon and late evening attempts. [Editor's note: Hey Rabbit, don't forget sitting in all that traffic after an 18-wheeler caught fire ahead of you on I-84 and burned to a crisp!]
