Friday highlights from Oregon and Washington:
A beautiful rainy drive with Debi from Mt. Hood back to Portland (was really nice to smell the rain and to experience clouds after so many months of sunny skies). Leftover Lebanese food for lunch while hurrying to get ready to catch the bus. A peaceful scenic ride on the bus to Seattle with quality, alone time to reflect and to dream. Joining Tabasco’s friend, Allison, and her friends for a quick beer at Del Ray, an open air café/bar in downtown Seattle. A great evening with Tabasco and his dad, Pat, sitting out in the backyard grilling ribs, drinking good beer and listening to Pat share stories of his Navy fighter pilot adventures.
Low points:
Having to say goodbye to Debi, Ashley, the pooches, and Portland itself – Portland feels like home and my plan is to definitely spend winter and spring in Oregon to see how well I do during the dreary rainy season before making any kind of commitment to make a permanent move to the northwest.
