June 19 to June 21: Hiking Into The Snow Sierras
Gorgeous meadows in the Southern Sierras.
Batteries, Intruder, Pepper Jack, Luna, Freight Train preparing to eat dinner first night out of Kennedy Meadows.
Intruder never knows when he might run into the dentist!
Freight Train's second hobby besides eating!
Snow plant arises to claim it's piece of spring!
First partially frozen lake in the Sierras
Freight Train and his baby snowman, more snow to come?
Beautiful meadows and snow covered peaks to be hiked!
No crampons or ice axe needed yet....but the snow sure is deep! Batteries and Freight Train lead the way.
Pepper Jack leads, followed by Bloody Knuckles, Freight Train, Batteries, then Intruder...sun cupped snow is difficult to traverse!
Strike a pose....man, I should be in movies!
And just beyond these trees and snow...is the desert, cut off from moisture by the High Sierras themselves.
A carpet of golden flowers kisses the trail.
So far.....I love this snow thing in summer!
