Great Zero mile day in Portland
Our master plan was to work through logistics, planning, resupply issues, gear repair, and other trail related work.  I was up just after 8am and began tackling the 22 item “to do” list.  Tabasco slept in a little later before he began the arduous task of updating his website with hundreds of photos.  Other than time for breakfast, lunch, and puppy interruptions, I plugged away until about 3pm on my list.

Then I hustled across town to meet Debi.  We took care of some of her errands, then went to People’s Food Coop to check out the weekly farmer’s market/street fair.  I found a hand made card and book, converted to a journal, to send Mom for her 70th birthday.  Happy birthday, Mom!  You’re so young, how could you and Dad possibly be 70?  Glad you both are enjoying life and each other in retirement and I celebrate that you are in good general health!

Debi and I had a great meal at Nicholas’s, a Middle Eastern restaurant, then visited her new home and met her roommates, Sharon and Dell, both active school teachers.  From Debi’s I drove to the airport to pick up Eric, returning late from a long flight from the East coast, where he had delivered a keynote address, along with Newt Gingrich, in DC.  We were both tired and when we got back to the homestead, there was some dog snuggling, then it was time for bed.  No sign of Tabasco, who was out on the town with Venessa.
