Night Owl Binge Nightmare
Rough night last night.  I had a really nice bedroom and bed to myself, but it was right next to the kitchen and I am a light sleeper.  Tabasco and Mary went to bed, I thought about 12:30, but then at 1am I heard someone eating and drinking, opening the fridge, opening bags of chips and definitely on an eating binge.  After an hour I got up and used the bathroom just to see who it was.  It was Mary, and she ate from 1am to 3:30am, and I couldn’t go to sleep because she made so much noise.  Finally her eating binge was over and I got to sleep from 3:30 – 7am, when Andrea Dinsmore got up and Mary returned to the kitchen.  I got up.  Andrea and I spent some time looking at my website and her website, then I got some more time on the internet.

Breakfast was fend for yourself, so I chopped up lots of fresh veggies and cooked myself a huge veggie and cheese omelet for breakfast.  After breakfast we got our gear ready to go back to the trail.  Jerry took 5 of us, packed in his truck, to the post office, where I ran into Little Foot (Teapot) and Charlie (Little Big Man).  We hugged and talked briefly and walked from the PO to the convenience store, where Good to Go was in the phone booth on the phone.  I walked with him and Little Foot and Charlie to the café in town…we only had about 10 minutes to catch up before I piled in the truck with the others and Jerry Dinsmore drove us back to Steven’s Pass.

Tabasco and I got on trail at 12:30pm and hiked until 6i30pm, stopping for a late lunch, a couple breaks, photos, and to talk late day to two more NOBO’s, Toby and Deana, who we had never heard of.  Tonight we’re camping at Glacier Lake campsite and it’s very cold, so I just wrote yesterday and today’s journals quickly, to the point of highlights, and without some good details because it’s hard to write in a cold tent.  Weather looks good for the next several days, though it’ll be cold.

We’re planning to get to Snoqualmie Pass by mid-day Sunday.  It’s only an hour from Seattle, so Seattle friends are coming up to see Tabasco and Debi is driving up from Portland to see me.  We have to do some serious miles the next couple of days, so it’s time for me to stop writing and go to bed.  (9:18pm).  Today’s weather: sunny to partly cloudy, low 30, high 45.  Brrrr!!!  Today’s miles: 14.6; cumulative 1516.3.  Trail in this section is up, down, up, down, up, down, with average ascents and descents today about 1000 feet and a little less than last section.
