Everyone had so much fun last night together that today was another opportunity to get together. Eric and Ashley were touting the tastiness of the African peanut soup while we were at McMenamins last night at a restaurant called Noodlin.
So at noon, Misha, Holly, Pavel, Alena, and newborn Petyr met the three of us at Noodlin for lunch. And the African peanut soup was delicious...as was the teriyaki noodle entree. After lunch we walked over to the huge sidewalk sale at G.I. Joe's, a large sporting goods chain. Mountain House freeze dried dinners were on sale in three packs for an amazingly low price, so I bought six more dinners to add to the pile of meals back at the Portland residence of my trail angels.
We dropped Misha off at the university where he teaches, then drove back to the ranch. I finished up work on the website and we relaxed around the house, all heading to bed fairly early.
The foot looks some better today, though the opening is not closing up as I had hoped. All the new skin in the areas where the old skin has peeled are very tender to the touch and it feels very strange when I put the foot on the ground to try to walk with full pressure. No end in sight yet to the healing process.
Doodlebug, Good To Go, and Bono all called today to get an update on me. Good To Go is now hiking with "H" and Whistler, Bono is getting ready to fly back East, and Doodlebug is in transit to meet up with Nitro.
Lucy and Maggie continue to be a joy, and Lucy is persistent and consistent with her antics...stealing and chewing up my socks, getting in my face for licks on the beard, and trying desperately to lick my foot. That dog is a piece of work! And, she is a lot of fun to have around, keeping all of us on our toes.
